”Slide show about Norwegian vlogger”

Story: In this film, which was originally labelled Ideas and Coffee 6, we experimented with new forms of videoblogging, i.e. slide shows and voice over.

We discovered Raymond Kristiansen by watching the films in the Rocketboom archives.

The pictures of the slide show are screen shots taken with the app Grab and the voice over was recorded with a Sony Ericsson k700 mobile phone. The sound file was exported to iMovie via Bluetooth. In the film the duration of the photographs are consequently 5 sec (iMovie default), so sometimes the voice and the picture are not as well synchronised as if one would had prolonged or shortened the duration of the slides.

Kristian got stuck with the subtitles and therefore the English subtitles are rather scarce. The punch-line in the end of the film: "It is not only in Silicon Valley that one can get a job through blogging" is uncomprehensible for non-Scandianvian speakers...

Apps: Grab; iMovie, iPhoto, QT

”[O] back thinking”

Story: [O] is thinking. Thinking and filming with Motorola A925. Playing with layers and image on image (QT), at the same time screencapturing (desktop). Subs this time done in Illustrator and exported as PNG with transparency, then easily put in QT as ”Add scaled” on desirable places. Anti-aliased and nice (but not searchable =\ ). First and last title made in Cinema 4d. Analog synth imported in QT and slowed down with ”Add scaled”. Not recommended. QT doesnt't always do the ”scaling” with sound properly. Use a real audio app or similar

Apps: QT, Snapz Pro, Desktastic, Illustrator, Cinema 4d

”Ideas and coffee 3”

Story: This "Ideas and Coffee" was shot when we just had discovered the vlogosphere.

We moved on from the previous Ideas and Coffee by creating a more complicated stage setup with multiple cameras and camera positions. The movie- and film clips are substantially edited meaning that they in some parts of the film do not match with the original footage.

Apps: iMovie, QT, Desktastic, illustrator, SnapzPro

Hardware: Olympus C-770, Sony Ericsson k700, Sony ECM-MS908C stereo mic, Tibook 1Ghz, Processor upgraded Powermac G4 (1,47 Ghz)

Links: Michael Verdi, Dylan Verdi, Rocketboom, The Carol and Steve Show.

”Olympus on skates!”

Story: [O] gets his way again with cam filters, but this time on skates and with the digital stillcam Olympus C-770. It can capture mpeg4 640X480 and does so nicely. Also, first test with Hyper Engine that has layer functions, fun audio filters AND subtitle functions that pleases us indeed (iMovie where are you?). Easy to set in and out ponts wherever you want. And it's free. All ”live screen writings” are made with a (your choice) graphic app with pen tablet mode and SnapzPro capturing it.

Apps: QT, Hyper Engine, Snapz Pro, Desktastic,

Hardware: Olympus C-770, Tibook 1Ghz, wacom graphire 2

”bitlab Infomercial!”

Story:Info is good sometimes. So alittle about what is going on here at bilab malmö. Edited in QT. But here we see SnapzPro at its best. Super smooth to work with, and great fun ;)

”SmallTech”

Story: Wellst, you figured it. Firewire is trusty alright but not totally. As long as you don't believe in plug n play 100%, it is indeed solid. The fun part is that devices can and will always surprize you, good and bad, but if you just keep cool you can certainly find new creative ”openings” in an otherwise failed creation/work. As for making subs in Keynote, it's not recommended. If you insist, you should work with Build Order and delay function to have some kind of timecontrol. In my opinion it's great fun to create with non suitable apps, as I said before, it most likely will surprize you in a positive way.

”Idéer till kaffet 2!”

Story: A lot of subs! Phew! Well you know where to find turorials. Zope is mentioned.

Apps: iMovie, QT, Snapz Pro, Desktastic

Hardware: Canon MV 400, Sony ECM-MS908C stereo mic, Tibook 1Ghz

”Thunderbird i din browser!”

Story: Subtitles and chapters once again. This time they work in the browser though! Cool! Filmed with 3G phone and slowed down in speed, hence the murky sound of me walking. You can do this in QT pro with ”add scaled”. If the first clip is longer than the second. ”Select all” on the first and then ”add scaled” with the second. I should mention that the reason I play around with QT Pro is mostly the easy cut n paste workflow and the files are not ”DV-imported” by iMovie, BUT! the new iMovie does just that! importing mpeg4 and all...

Apps:QT, TextEdit, Snapz Pro, Desktastic

Hardware: Motorola A 925 (3G phone}, Tibook 1Ghz.

”Idéer till kaffet 1”

Story: Well the Premiere went well. Not too much to report here. A premiere is always abit ”searching”. We did mention the Wiki-video thing and how to create a searchable ”marker”, visible or audible in conjunction to the subtitles (not here this time though).

Apps: iMovie, QT, Snapz Pro, Desktastic

Hardware: Canon MV 400, Sony ECM-MS908C stereo mic, Tibook 1Ghz

”OK...HREF here we come!”

Story: You can make clickable links in QT films. Subtitles and chapters too. I guess these features are not needed all the time, but it's good to know about them. Also, these layers with text are searchable, which we had a little fun about in ”ideas and coffee 1” (no subs there so you probably missed it) when we thought of wiki-video as a possible upcoming thing. =)

Apps:QT, TextEdit, Snapz Pro

Hardware: Motorola A 925 (3G phone}, Tibook 1Ghz.
